Course Opportunities in College of Business |
Many of you are trying to pursue HPT Certificate that requires courses outside of our program. Several others have expressed interest to take business courses to better prepare you for careers in a corporate setting. We have recently reached an agreement with the Associate Dean of College of Business that our students would be able to take select business courses. These are hard core business courses so I would not take them just because I need an elective. Yet, if you are seriously considering career in the corporate sector and/or are working toward an HPT certificate, it may be only appropriate for you to take a course or two.
Here is a list of courses that have been suggested as appropriate for non-business majors. I have also listed times when these courses will be offered this fall.
IMPORTANT: Spaces in these courses are limited so we will keep a waiting list on a first come first serve basis. In addition, the College of Business has indicated that they are more likely to have space in (1) face-to-face evening classes geared toward their part-time students, (2) online classes, and only then in their (3) day classes. So I would strongly encourage you to target evening classes as much as possible.

Questions or Feedback?
If you find other courses that are of interest to you but that are not listed here, please email Zane Olina. We will discuss these with the College of Business representatives in the future. If you do take a course, please send your reactions and feedback about the course at the end of your semester, so that we can be in a better position to advise students in the future.
